Bill Lytle
Personal: Bill was born and raised in the Northern Virginia area, primarily Woodbridge. He married his high school sweetheart, Cheryl, in 1987. They have three daughters, Amanda, Lexie and Sydney.
Spiritual Journey: A few years into their marriage, Bill, together with his family, started attending a local Baptist church. Soon after, he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior, and has continued growing spiritually ever since, and especially since coming to FBCW.
FBCW Service: Bill and Cheryl joined FBCW in February of 1999. He has served in numerous capacitates since that time. He is currently a Sunday School teacher in Children’s Ministry, Chairman of the Missions Committee and an ordained Deacon. He has also served on the Administrative Ministry Team 5 of the last 6 years, taught in other Children’s Ministries, such as Kid’s Club, Vacation Bible School, Sports Camp, and the New Christians Class, and served on various committees, including the Initial Elder Selection Committee.
Career: Bill worked almost 13 years in the government, for the Army’s Communications Electronics Command (CECOM) in the area of tactical communications and special systems design and engineering. Following government work, He went to work as a managing partner and Chief Information Officer for SNVC, a Fairfax, Virginia based information technology and information security company. Bill also serves on the Board of Directors at SNVC and on the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association’s (AFCEA) Technical Committee.
Howard Meyer
Personal: Howard grew up in the Andrews AFB, MD, area. After his stepfather retired from the Air Force in 1968, his family moved to Columbia, South Carolina, where he attended North Trenholm Baptist Church. He married his high school sweetheart, Mary, after graduating from the Air Force Academy in 1977. Howard and Mary have three daughters, Rachel, Hannah, and Amy.
Spiritual Journey: Howard has been a Christian for 35 years having accepted Christ as a teen in Columbia, South Carolina. He fully committed his life to Christ in his senior year of high school after attending a Bible study led by an assistant principal at his high school. Within six weeks, the Lord led Howard and a friend to start their first Bible study for youth at his church. Since that time, Howard has been leading home and church Bible studies, served as a Deacon (and Deacon Chair) at University Baptist Church in Laramie, WY, and Hoffmantown Baptist Church in Albuquerque, N.M. He also served as an Elder at First Presbyterian Church and Christ Community Church (both PCA) in Panama City, FL.
FBCW Service: Howard and his family joined FBCW in September of 1998 and he has served as Deacon and Sunday School teacher. He has also served on the Bylaw Revision, and Executive Pastor Search Committees.
Career: The Lord led Howard to the Air Force Academy and a military career after high school. He graduated from the Air Force Academy in 1977 and retired form the Air Force in 1999. Howard currently works for Booz Allen Hamilton serving as the Science Advisor for the Air Force's Directorate of Operational Capabilities Requirements at Headquarters, USAF.
Ronald Perreault
Personal: Ron was an abandoned baby who was adopted at age one. He grew up in southern Maine where he attended the First Baptist Church. Ron married Willie Mae in 1958 and they have two sons.
Spiritual Journey: Ron accepted Christ during a revival when he was ten years old. In 1978, he recommitted his life to God through the Bible Speaks Ministry.
FBCW Service: Ron and Willie Mae have been members of FBCW since 1979. He has served on various screening and search committees and is currently a Deacon and teacher of the Berean Sunday School Class.
Career: Ron served in the USAF from 1956 until 1977. He then worked for the D.C. Government with the Department of Human Resources as a substance abuse specialist. He also served in this capacity for the Department of the Army at Ft. Myer and the Metropolitan Area Transit Authority. He has been retired since 2001.
Ron has worked in the Good News Jail and Prison Ministry for over 20 years, is on the Board of Directors for Care Net Pregnancy Resource Center and serves on the Steering Committee of the US Too Prostate Cancer Support Group.
Sam Sanford
Personal: Sam was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio. Sam married Cindy in 1988. They have two children, Jake and Gabi.
Spiritual Journey: As a teenager Sam accepted Jesus as his personal Savior while attending his home church —a mall Baptist church in Dayton. He rededicated his life to Christ in 2001. Since 2002 Sam has been attending a small group men’s Bible study (originally Promise Keepers) that meets twice a month.
FBCW Service: In 1998 Sam and his family started attending FBCW and quickly fell in love with the First Family. In 2001 they officially became members of FBCW. In 2003 Sam and Cindy started the adult Sunday School class, ‘Daily Walk’ and Sam served as teacher for 5-6 years. Before stepping away he mentored and coached 4 individuals as teachers. Since then he has taught as substitute Sunday School teacher for adults and young adults. Currently, Sam is an ordained Deacon (May 2005), a leader in Deacon training and works on various church initiatives and creative arts projects.
Career: Sam worked in the private sector for approximately five years after graduating from college and has been in federal service for the last 24 years.
Billy Wilhite
Personal: Billy was born in Monroe, LA, in 1954 where he lived until he was 18 years old. He moved to attend college in Colorado Springs, CO, where he met his future wife, Sally. He then transferred to Louisiana Tech University for his senior year and married Sally in August of 1975. Billy graduated in 1976 and entered the USAF to begin a military career. Billy and Sally have 3 adult children, Ben, Jennifer, and Christina, all living in the greater DC metropolitan area.
Spiritual Journey: Billy learned of Jesus and His love as a small child through Sunday school at Stone Avenue Methodist Church. He accepted Christ as personal Savior in July 1970 when the Holy Spirit convicted a headstrong teenager at Central Baptist Church in Monroe, LA. Billy spent several years learning more about Christ, who He is, and who He calls us to be, but continued to be a lukewarm Christian until rededicating his life to the Lord in the early 1980’s when he began earnestly seeking Him.
FBCW Service: Billy and Sally joined FBCW in October 1992. He has served as youth Sunday school teacher, on the Administrative Ministry Team, and in the Levite ministry (Woodbridge Café and Security). He is currently in the choir, teaches an Adult Sunday School class, and serves in the Good News Jail and Prison Ministry. He most recently was selected to serve as a Deacon.
Career: Billy served 22 years in the USAF, first as an enlisted man for almost 2 years, then as an officer. He was commissioned in 1978 and entered fighter aviation as a Weapons Systems Officer (F-4 and F-111). He completed his military career in 1998 after serving on the Air Force Secretariat staff at the Pentagon for several years. He now works as a Deputy Director and Program Manager for a local defense contractor supporting the Department of Defense.
Randy Zeigler, Sr.
Personal: Randy was born and raised in Salem, Ohio. In June of 1977 Randy and Ann were married. They have two sons, Randy, Jr., (RJ) living in Dumfries and Robert living in Orlando, Florida.
Spiritual Journey: Randy was raised in a Christian home and attended an Evangelical Friends Church. During his middle school years Randy became active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). It was in June of 1972 at a Fellowship of Christian Athlete’s Conference at the US Naval Academy that Randy accepted Christ during a huddle meeting hosted by Roger Staubach. However, it was not until 1979 that he was baptized by a Southern Baptist Church in Augusta, Georgia. He has been active in the Baptist Church since then.
FBCW Service: Randy and Ann joined FBCW in April of 2001. Randy began his service by working with the Audio and Video Team as a video camera operator. Randy continues to support the Multimedia Team on an as needed basis. In 2005 he also began to work with the Senior Adult Ministry as a lay leader and currently continues in that position. Randy served as an Administrative Ministry Team Officer from 2006 through 2008. Randy was ordained by FBCW as a Deacon in October of 2009. As a Deacon he participates in the Visitation Ministry and also has a heart for congregational care.
Career: Randy served in the Army from 1978 to 1987 spending that time here in the Washington area serving in the White House Communications Agency. In 1987 he joined Motorola, Inc, as a wireless engineer. He is currently a Service Engineering Manager for Motorola Federal Government Markets Division. Randy is a member of the IEEE and CTIA. Randy is active in Kiwanis and will serve as the Woodbridge Chapter President beginning in September of 2010.
